Yabba Daba Doo's Day

It is Yabba Daba Doo’s day! I was so crazy watching “The Flintstone” during my younger years. I am not saying I have the same age as this animated cartoon, lol. It was so cute that the makers of this sitcom cartoon made Stone Age a creative and enjoyable to watch.

Happy 50th Anniversary to The Flintstone

6 Cute Ideas to Make Anyone’s Birthday Unforgettable

To make other anyone’s birthday special, all you have to do something remarkable. You could express your greetings and wishes, write a poem or a song, send some flowers or balloons, bake a cake, treat them to a one-day spa session, or arrange a party.

Birthdays are among the few times of the year that people can celebrate themselves and feel special. It is because a birthday is a celebration of one’s existence and a thanksgiving for another great year of life. That is why birthdays are often celebrated with a fabulous party with family and friends. It is even more memorable if close people give the celebrant unique birthday gifts. Here are some birthday ideas that will really put a smile anyone’s face.

Express your greetings and wishes

Though very simple, birthday greetings and wishes expressed verbally will most certainly make birthday celebrants happy. It lets them know that someone actually remembers their day. This is a very good way to jump-start a day full of surprises.

Write a poem or a song

Writing a poem is another way for you to express your warmest greetings and wishes to people celebrating a birthday. What’s so amazing about it is that it’s not only very unique, but it also adds to the value of the occasion as well. Your words can be inspiring or romantic. Either way, your message will surely enhance your friendship and strengthen any relationship. You can try adding these poems and songs to their birthday cards or presents.

Send some flowers or balloons

Small gestures of love, like giving flowers and balloons, can already mean something big to someone celebrating a birthday. Drop them off at the person’s workplace early in the morning, or have them delivered so that they will enjoy them for the rest of the day.

Bake a cake

Giving birthday cakes is a traditional way of making people feel special on their birthdays. But, it can even be more special if you bake the cake yourself. Even if it doesn’t taste as good or look as fancy as the baker’s, at least you made the extra effort just to make someone smile.

Treat them to a one-day spa session

After another year of work, study, play, and stress, treat them to a day of complete relaxation and pampering. Tell them that on their special day, they ought not to do anything but relax and rejuvenate. It will also be a good start to begin another year full of life’s bliss and challenges. You can also do this a day before their birthdays so that on their special day, they’ll feel more relaxed and contented.

Arrange a party

To end the day with a bang, surprise them with a special birthday party. It does not matter how big or small it is. What matters most is that the celebrants are enjoying their days. It will be even more special if the party is attended by close friends and family members.

Birthdays can be special without spending much money for a present. Remember that anything that sincerely comes from the heart is all that matters.

My EmPk's Debut Album;)

‘Just want to share here one of my kids' home recordings ( proud mama;) ). The soloist was my daughter while her back-up singer was my son. They just love singing and they are knowledgeable in playing musical instruments. Based from her cover you might think she will be playing guitar while singing but she did not do it on this one, most probably next time.

Day after day
Time pass away
And I just can´t get you off my mind
Nobody knows ... I hide it inside
I keep on searching but I can´t find
The courage to show ...
To letting you know ...
I´ve never felt so much love before
And once again I´m thinking about
Taking the easy way out ...

CHORUS:
But if I let you go
I will never know
What my life would be
Holding you close to me
Will I ever see
You smiling back at me
How will I know?
If I let you go ...

Night after night
I hear myself sayin´
Why can´t this feeling just fade away?
There´s no one like you ...
You speak to my heart...
It´s such a shame we´re worlds apart ...
I´m too shuy to ask ...
I´m too proud to lose
But sooner or later I gotta choose
And once again I´m thinking aboutTaking the easy way out ...

CHORUS

Once again I´m thinking about ....
Taking the easy way out ....

CHORUS

Strawberry Shortcake Rolls

Nope, I did not make this shortcake rolls and I am not posting this article because I have recipe to share. This is not a paid advertisement either. I just love sharing some sweetylicious snacks that I have been munching called Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake Rolls. I love having this shortcake while watching my favorite Filipino TV-marathon online. It is artificially flavored but I am starting to like it. It has six cakes individually wrapped and it taste so good. Another interesting about the shortcake rolls is the exclusive edition 50th Anniversary Madame Alexander Little Debbie doll. Ohlalala…this doll is so cute.;)

Read and Pass the WORD: No Parking

On the funny side;)
A minister parked his car in a no parking zone in a large city and attached the following message to his windshield: " I have circled this block 10 times. I have an appointment to keep. Forgive us our trespasses".
When he returned to his car he found this reply attached to his own note, along with a ticket, "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket. I lose my job. Lead us not into temptation.

Another First Time

Do you remember the post I shared on my first time to go to a movie theater here in the USA? Well, I got another first time in my life which is the apple picking. Another first time in my life was I able to visit Apple Charlie’s Cider that is located at South Huron Road, New Boston, Michigan. The farm is packed with homegrown fruit. Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to see how they make apple cider because it was a clean-up day. Yet, I was still so excited when I was there for finally I got the chance to picking apple of many types. It was so easy to pick apples because what they have there are all dwarfing apple trees. Therefore, we are planning to go back on that place preferably on a weekend to enjoy more. Aside from the cider mill, we want to witness the entertainment they have in the pavilion, the hayride, and get in to the Haunted House.

Read and Pass the WORD: THE POWER OF ONE

It has been a while since I have not posted on my Read & Pass the WORD weekly Bible sharing. From this week on, I will update this every Wednesday. For this week, I have selected WORD from Daily Encounter by Richard Dick Innes of ACTS International, http://www.actsweb.org/encounter/daily.php. . The preach focuses on Romans 1:16.
Let me start on the poem he included in his preaching. Here it goes…

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam can light a room.
One candle can wipe out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true.
One life can make the difference,
You see, it's up to you and me.

Most often God knocks and calls us but we are too much preoccupied, busy, and cannot be reached. Some have the notion that only those have position in the church have the responsibility to do God’s work or spread His word. Each of us can serve God in our own simple and little way. We just have to be available. We just have to say YES and let be God’s hand in the workplace, road, mall, blogs, and most especially in one's own family.
Let’s hold on to this verse: "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile."1 Romans 1:16.

My First Visit to a Movie Theater

Yep, sounds funny though but it is real. I have been here in the USA but just two weeks ago when I had a chance to watch movies. Actually, the plan is to watch one movie but I was surprised that the movie watchers can be able to enter and watch movies having one ticket. One movie I enjoyed the most is “The Expendables.” This is a hard-hitting action/thriller about a group of mercenaries hired to pass surreptitiously into enemy-held territory in South America and subvert its ruthless dictator. There are two things I found interesting in this movie. First, the bonding or the friendship the team had for each other. That was the scene when Barney (Sylvester Stallone) and Christmas (Jason Statham) were forced to leave Sandra (Giselle Itie) behind, essentially giving her a death sentence. Vexed by this failure, Barney convinces the team to return to Vilena to rescue the hostage and finish the job he started. Second, when Yin Yang’s (Jet Li) asked for a raise. It was so cute to note his line when said that he is short and small, he is doing the hardest job among the team. Well and then all scenes were breathtaking, the casts were excellent and it is worth watching this movie.

NMEDA: Key to Quality Transportation

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Aside from teaching job, I also work as private sitter during weekends. Have you imagined how hard it is assisting a client especially when he/she is disabled? It is so uncomfortable for both of us going to a store, church, or clinic or even just inside the house. Thus, the inability to move independently adds frustration on my client. Yet,NMEDAgives it a break. As the company saying goes “Transportation is the key to freedom; NMEDA is the key to quality transportation.”

Let me tell you first about the company. The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) was founded originally in the state of Florida in 1989 to ease the mobility of people with disabilities. NMEDA is a non-profit trade association so; they not sell anything at all. They educate consumers on buying products from a NMEDA qualified dealers, manufacturers and rehabilitation professionals.

NMEDA has two important aspects, which is the NMEDA Certified Dealers and the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) dealers. The former are the ones who sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people. These dealers (members) are required to adhere to the safety standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and to follow the NMEDA guidelines. While the latter is a recognized accreditation program for the mobility equipment industry developed to satisfy customers consistently and make sure customers are getting the best mobility product. The QAP is the only program of this nature developed for the mobility equipment industry. Likewise, some states now require a dealer's participation in the QAP to carry out work for the Vocational Rehabilitation Program.

Each individual is unique and it goes with the disability. Each person with disability has different special needs. In NMEDA, a client will undergo a personalized “in-person” evaluation; to make sure he/she is getting the right driving solution fitted to his/her specific lifestyle and needs. Thus, whenever you need additional training or product refinements, NMEDA certified dealer is there to help you.

As I was saying earlier, NMEDA made it easier for my client, her family, and me. So, what are you waiting for? Visit the site, hit the dealer locator, type in your zip code to find qualified dealer near your area. Spread the news, and let your elderly people feel how it is like to be back onto the road of independence.

Six Helpful Hints to Master Your Own Time

Master the use of your time by employing these useful hints: have different types of to-do-lists, split every large assignment into various small tasks, comply with your list of priorities, set a deadline, learn to be flexible, and be able to maximize your time.
Time management is essential in every student’s life. Whether you are in college or even in graduate school, you must be able to manage your schedule and make the best out of every minute. You are the boss of your time, and you need to use it well. Here are some ways to master the use of time so you can have a fruitful life.
Different types of to-do-lists
It is wise to have several types of to-do-lists. You group tasks that belong to the same category. You can have home to-do-lists compromised of grocery list, household chores, and bill payments. Another list would be for your social life that includes any activities relating to your friends and family. A very important list would be for your school life and should consist of everything about school tasks, assignments, and deadlines.
Split every large assignment into various small tasks
Every large assignment should be broken down into various small tasks. This is to ensure that the large task is accomplished. Small tasks are clearer and are more specific.
Comply with your list of priorities
Making a list of your priorities will guide you properly. Although, you don’t have to finish all of them right away. The good thing about setting your priorities is that you can easily say ‘no’ to requests from friends because you know that you still have much to do ahead. Prioritizing will make it easy for you to decide whether to say ‘no’ or ‘yes’ based on the availability of your time.
Set a deadline
Setting a reasonable deadline for each academic task is vital for properly managing your time. With a calendar at hand, you need to determine how long it will take you to finish one specific step that will lead to the completion of a larger task. Make sure you are able to come up with a sensible and achievable time frame.
Learn to be flexible
Flexibility is one thing you must also master. There might be unexpected disruptions with your planned activities. This does not mean you should give in to irritability because of these interruptions. Simply go with the flow and allow yourself to deal with the present condition. Moreover, plan your activities according to your peaks and lows. If you are a nocturnal individual, then it is best to schedule more of your tasks at nighttime when you are more enthusiastic and alert.
Maximize your time
While you are commuting or while waiting in a line, you can study your reading assignments. Perhaps, you can make use of this time to jot down important notes in your planner.

Bathtub for Sunny

Before whenever Sunny had to take a bath, we would place a bowl with water in front of him. Since he would not jump in for a dip, we would help him by sprinkling water on him. Now, since Sunny is getting used with taking a bath, we bought him a new bathtub. Sunny, our cute budgie, would bathe himself every couple of days.

Sunny's tub and new toy
