Hitback: The Butterfly Song ( If I Were A Butterfly )

I miss this song entitled " The Butterfly Song" by Brian Howard. This was the first action song I taught in Catechism, which was way back in 1990 and had it for an intermission number in celebrating the Prayer Group's Anniversary. Oh, how I wish I had all the pictures. It was still fresh in my mind how my brother Nap helped in choreography and with our join effort, we were able to present the song lively and loved by the audience. I can still hear the giggles and laughter while preparing for that action song.

If I were a butterfly
I'd thank you Lord for giving me wings
If I were a robin in a tree
I'd thank you Lord that I could sing
If I were a fish in the sea
I'd wiggle my tail and I'd giggle with glee
But I just thank you Father for making me, me

CHORUS
For you gave me a heart and you gave me a smile
You gave me Jesus and you made me your child
And I just thank you Father for making me, me

If I were an elephant
I'd thank you Lord by raising my trunk
If I were a kangaroo
You know I'd hop right up to you
If I were an octopus
I'd thank you Lord for my fine looks
But I just thank you Father for making me, me

If I were a wiggly worm
I'd thank you Lord that I could squirm
If I were a fuzzy, wuzzy bear
I'd thank you Lord for my fuzzy, wuzzy hair
If I were a crocodile
I'd thank you Lord for my great smile
But I just thank you Father for
making me, me

Pass the WORD: Plant Today and Wait for Many Tomorrows

“ If you plant today, it doesn’t mean you’ll harvest tomorrow. You’ll have to wait for many tomorrows  before you harvest” – Bo Sanchez
There are times that after all the hardworking we did; we would still end up to disappointment. We were neither getting any credit at all nor any reward back. Then anytime we would surpass a trial, another will come right after and this time a heavier challenge. We are somehow like Pacman who needs to face a rematch every time we won. It seems that we need to prove that we are really the strongest one in this battle.
Yet God has His own way of communicating to His people. God is good and he listens when we prayed. When He answered, He uses somebody to speak for Him.
Bo Sanchez Practical Soulfood for Successful People’s article for today entitled How The Law of Farm Can Change your Life shares the real virtue of waiting, being patient and expecting that God’s reward will come in ways that will surprise us.
It may be true that most of the people around us may fail to acknowledge what we did for them. We may not be given credit nor we may not get what we expect things to happen right away. There may be thousands of reasons to lose hope but the good news is there are billions of reasons not to give up as well. So, just keep on doing what we have to do today. Keep on moving forward. Never focus on how rough life would be or painful. Just keep on planting and reap the best in God’s special time. Believe with God all things are possible. May our dreams come true.

Read & Pass the WORD

Howdy folks. Let me share with you weekly prayer tip from my online prayer warrior community. Here it goes.
Believe in your prayer
Remember that you will receive as a result of prayer EXACTLY what you THINK, and not what you SAY. If you pray for achievement but think defeat, your words are idle because your heart has already accepted defeat. Practice believing that you are receiving God's boundless blessings and they will come to you. - Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

Hi Folks, today I want to share with you the daily power thoughts from my online prayer community "Our Prayer: Reaching Out...Lifting Up".

Today's Power Thought:

PRAY SIMPLY

Read & Pass the WORD

On the lighter side;)

One day, a Genie appeared to a woman and said, “This is your lucky day! I will give you 3 wishes.”

“Yeheey!” the woman squealed.

“But on one condition,” said the Genie, “Whatever you ask for, your husband will receive 3 times more.”

The woman frowned, “What? But I hate my husband! He’s a despicable man!”

The Genie shook his head. “I’m sorry. I’m the Love Genie. I repeat: What you ask for, your husband will receive 3 times more.”

The woman said, “Oh, okay. My first wish: Make me very rich. I want $1 Million.”

The Genie asked, “Are you sure? Your husband will have $3 Million.”

She says, “Oh, never mind. What is his is mine and what is mine is his.”

“Very well then!” the Genie said, and with a wave of his hand, and “Poof!” the woman had $1 Million—and her husband had $3 Million.

“My second request is that I want to be very beautiful.”

The Genie asked, “Are you sure? Your husband will look like Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby and John Lloyd put together. This is very dangerous. The girls will flock to him.”

The woman said, “Just as long as I’ll be beautiful.”

And with the wave of his hand, “Poof!”, and she became utterly beautiful and the husband three times more handsome.

The woman then said, “For the third wish, I would like to have a very mild heart attack.”

Lesson: Whatever you give to yourself, you give to others more. If you like yourself, you’ll like others too. If you dislike yourself, you’ll dislike others too. Because life is a mirror. What you see in others is a reflection of what you see in yourself.

I Love to Hear You Laugh (repost)

Once again, here in my classroom, the noise of the boys in the first and second row triggered my head to burst. How many times have I called their attention since they still have seatworks to do. But I just could not imagine how could they do such things: doing seatwork at the same time bullying.Unfortunately, when its time for me to check their work, much to my dismay they have not yet written more than a single letter of the alphabet.
"What attitude do you, boys, have?" I uttered irritatingly. I was losing my patience and eventually decided to give what they deserved-remain standing for the next 30minutes and one week cleaners. I was in the middle of my tirade when my message alert tone caught my attention. Still with irritable feeling, I held out my cp and began to read a message from 777
I LOVE TO HEAR YOU LAUGH - GOD....Whew! what a real shame, I guess God had really seen me in my cannot-be painted-tiger-like facial expression. I sat down, took a deep breath..inhale...exhale...breathe in...breathe out...I prayed. I asked forgiveness I ended my prayer by giving Him thanks for He never fails in keeping in touch with His people . He always connect even in cellphone.

Read and Pass the WORD: No Parking

On the funny side;)
A minister parked his car in a no parking zone in a large city and attached the following message to his windshield: " I have circled this block 10 times. I have an appointment to keep. Forgive us our trespasses".
When he returned to his car he found this reply attached to his own note, along with a ticket, "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket. I lose my job. Lead us not into temptation.

Read and Pass the WORD: THE POWER OF ONE

It has been a while since I have not posted on my Read & Pass the WORD weekly Bible sharing. From this week on, I will update this every Wednesday. For this week, I have selected WORD from Daily Encounter by Richard Dick Innes of ACTS International, http://www.actsweb.org/encounter/daily.php. . The preach focuses on Romans 1:16.
Let me start on the poem he included in his preaching. Here it goes…

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam can light a room.
One candle can wipe out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true.
One life can make the difference,
You see, it's up to you and me.

Most often God knocks and calls us but we are too much preoccupied, busy, and cannot be reached. Some have the notion that only those have position in the church have the responsibility to do God’s work or spread His word. Each of us can serve God in our own simple and little way. We just have to be available. We just have to say YES and let be God’s hand in the workplace, road, mall, blogs, and most especially in one's own family.
Let’s hold on to this verse: "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile."1 Romans 1:16.

Let the Love Begin

( from one of my articles in our school organ D’Eytrian, to remind my kids and my students especially those who are in my facebook )
Love may come in different angles, colors, and packages, but their common denominator is the feeling of happiness that brings out the natural high. The mere sight of your love turns the world upside down. For some, love may cause them to be forgetful. Like for instance, when a certain a guy approaches a gal and ask for something, a girl can’t say anything but ah.. umh..err. They become tongue-tied.
Falling in love is part of growing up. Nobody is exempt. Yet being in love does not always make anyone joyful. There are times when one has to go heartaches and pain. In this cyber age, the phasing is so fast. With the new communication devices, one got an instant boyfriend or girlfriend at one click of the fingertip. Do not be in a hurry. Yah, It’s true that we all need to be loved and accepted. We are longing for someone who gives us tenderness, but I want you to know that romantic love can wait. The right person will come along at the right time.
For the meantime, consider the following important persons in your life that can let your Love begin: First is God, He should be first in your list. God loves us so much that He suffered the most painful death. We have the assurance of His Love no matter who we are. The second person is YOU. Yes. Is that a surprise? Not that I’m telling you to be conceited or to be lovers of self, but it is because loving oneself springs out self-respect. It will be easier for you to say NO to temptation. The third is your FAMILY. Your parents only want the best for you. So, better spare them from unnecessary pain by making your study a priority.
It’s not a really a good idea to get involved in a love relationship at an early age. Focus your mind and attention to God, yourself and your family. There is always time for everything including romantic love. For now, enjoy your teenage years. One day, when you grow old you’ll meet someone God prepares for you and I’m sure that person is the best.

From My Photo Collection

“God’s looking from up above”, this was the first thought that came to my mind when I took this picture using my enV2 cell phone. That beautiful scenery gave me a relief after putting in a hard day at work. I can’t help but marvel on how awesome God speaks to us in any form. As the heaven declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands, Psalm 19:1

Read and Pass the WORD

This portion of my blog features selected daily devotional reflection I've read from different sources.

A Little Give and Take

Ro 12:10 - Giving preference to one another

Before discussing what healthy compromise is, let's be clear about what it's NOT. It's not giving up what you believe, or who you are, or accepting second best because you're impatient or afraid of criticism. Healthy compromise is about learning to negotiate a win win for both sides. It's tempting to dismiss somebody as being wrong, and see only our own vewpoint. That's when it's crucial to relinquish your pride, step outside of the role you're playing, try to become the other person and ask yourself, " Can I see their point of view?" Can I appreciate why they might feel as they do? Can I help them to better understand where I'm coming from?" The stronger we are in personality and views, the more we risk alienating the very people we need by being inflexible and unwilling to hear them out.

Here are two Scriptures we need to think about when we're hard-headed.

1. "Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another" Ro 12:10

2. "Be at peace among yourselves...comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all...always pursue what is good for yourselves and for all" 1Th 5:13-15 Amazing, isn't it? All you need is alittle give-and-take.

Pacman in my Google Browser

I was a little surprised when I saw pacman game in my google browser. Yet get excited and I've been trying clicking it thinking I could play on it. This game is kinda cute because Pacman have to get all the pellets by going through a maze and if the ghost gets too close, Pacman have to eat a power pellet so he can eat the ghost. Just like our journey in life, be a Pacman, let prayers serve to be our power pellet and be armed in fighting the ghosts or fear within us.

Dear Friend,
I would like to share with you a story , which handed to me while busy shopping in a mall, it has left a deep impression in my heart and soul, I just have to share the experience with you, retype the whole story as it is, and originally it was written in the first person point of view.

READ THIS.IT WILL SAVE YOU & UR FAMILY(this is a true story. Individual's name have been withheld upon request)
I hurried into the mall to get some last-minute gifts for the holidays. I looked at the milling shoppers and grumbled to myslef, " I would be in here 4ever, and I just have so much to do." But I hurried the best I could thru a thick crowd to the toy dept.
Once again, I kind of mumbled to myself at the prices of those toys and wondered if the grandkids would even play with them. I found myslef in the doll aisle. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a little boy of about five holding a lovely doll. He kept touching her hair and held her so gently. I could not help looking over the boy and wondered for whom the doll was for. He turned to a woman, called her by name (she was an aunt) and said, "You sure I dont have enopugh money?" she replied a bit impatiently, "You know that you dont have enough money for it." the aunt told the boy not to go anywhere, that she had to go get some otehr things and would be back in a few minutes. Then she left the aisle.
The boy continued to hold the doll. Going closer to him, I asked for who the doll was. "Its the doll my sister wanted so badly this christmas," he smiled. "She just knew that santa would bring it." I told him that maybe santa was going to bring it. "No, santa can't go where my sister is," he said. "I have to give the doll to my mama to take to her." I asked her where his sister was. He looked at me with the saddest eyes and said, " She has gone to be with jesus. My daddy says that Mama is going to have to go to be with her."
My heart nearly stopped beating. The boy looked at me agai and said, "I told my daddy to tell mama not to go on yet. I told her to tell her to wait until I got back from the store." then he asked me if I wanted to see his picture. I told him I would love to. He pulled out some pictures he had taken at the mall lobby. "I want my mama to take this with her so she dont ever forget me" he explained. "I love my mama so very much, and I wish she did not have to leave me. But daddy says she will need to be with my sister." The boy had lowered his head and grown very quiet. While he was not looking. I reached into my wallet and pulled out some bills. I asked him, "Shall we count the money one more time?" He grew excited and said. "Yes I just know it has to be enough."
So I slipped my money in wth his, and we began to count it. Of course, it was plenty for the doll. He murmured, "thank you, Jesus, for giving me enough money." Turning to me the boy said. " I just asked Jesus to give me enough money to buy this doll so Mama can take it with her to give to my sister. And he heard my prayer. I wanted her to ask him for enough money to buy my mama a white rose - I did ask him, but he gave me enough money to buy the doll and a rose for my mama! She loves white roses so very much, very much.
In a few minutes the aunt came back and I wheeled my cart away. I could not keep from thinking about the lil boy as I finished my shopping in a totally different spirit than when I had started.
And I keep remembering a story I had seen in the newspaper several days earlier about a driver under the influence of prohibited drugs hitting a car and killing a lil girl and leaving the mother in serious condition.
The story said the family was deciding whether or not to remove the life support. Now surely this lil boy had no connection to that story, I thought.
Two days later, I read in the newspaper that the family had disconnected the life support and the young woman had died. I could not forget the lil boy and just keep wondering if the two were somehow connected.
Later that day, I could not help myself and I went out to buy some white roses and took them to the funeral home where the young woman was.
And there she was, holding a lovely white rose, the beautiful doll, and the picture of the lil boy in the store.
I left there in tears, my life changed forever. The love that boy had for his little sister and his mother was overwhelming. In a split second, a driver under the influence of prohibited drugs had ripped the life of that little boy to pieces.
