Three Different Ways to Make Your Birth Chart

You can make your own birth chart through online birth chart tools or software, using a planisphere, or by using formulae.

A birth chart, also known as natal or nativity chart is an astrological chart showing the placement of the stars and planets in the sky at the exact time and date you were born. Astrologists use this diagram to gain information about the person because they believe that the heavenly bodies have significant influences on our personalities. They use the chart as a basis for understanding the individual’s strengths and weaknesses when counseling them. Here are ways that you can make your own natal chart.

Online birth chart tools or software

This is the easiest and fastest way to make a natal chart. By searching the Internet for the right natal chart tool or software, you can get your chart almost instantly without doing the computations and drawings yourself. All you need to do is to input very important and accurate data like your name and the date, time and place of your birth on the corresponding fields of the software, which will process everything for you. Just to be sure, check your birth certificate so you know the data is correct. Once it is processed or emailed to you, print the results and read the information with it that is all about you.

Using a planisphere

In this method, you will be the one to draw the chart. The first thing that you will do is prepare all the needed information like the day, year, time, and place you were born. These data are very important factors needed for the exact placement of the stars and planets at the moment of your birth. Next, find a planisphere, or sky map. They are movable paper wheels of the map of the stars, which you can set to a specific time, date, or hemisphere. Now, set the sky maps to your birth date, time, place, and year. Then, draw a circle and draw a horizontal and vertical line at the center, dividing the circle into 4 equal parts. At the upper left part of the circle, place the 12th, 11th, and 10th houses, then the 9th, 8th, and 7th houses on the upper right. At the lower left part of the circle, place the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd houses, then the 4th, 5th, and 6th houses on the lower right. The first six houses above the horizontal line are the houses viewable in the sky when you were born. On the other hand, the remaining six houses below the line are those not seen in the sky when you were born. Next, look at the sky map and write down the zodiac constellations positioned in each houses in your chart, including the rest of the astrological bodies like the sun, moon and the planets on the chart. Now that you have plotted your basic birth chart, you just need to interpret it. You can check out astrological websites to learn how to best consult an astrologist.

Using formulae

This is the trickiest way to make your natal chart and is only recommended for those who are really interested in knowing more about astrology, and who are good in math. With this method, you will be calculating local sidereal time, house cusps, planetary positions, and the many aspects of the chart.

Whichever way you want to make your natal chart, just be sure that you are using the correct data. In addition, if you do not have the slightest idea where to start, ask for help from the professionals.
